Superdrug Haul! ♡
Hello, welcome back!
Today I am going to be doing a haul post. I went to Superdrug yesterday and I
picked up some makeup goodies so I thought I would share what I got.
Beauty UK Eye Prime FX.
I have used this and that day come that I had
to get a new one because it ran out. This is the best drugstore eye primer in
my opinion. It makes my eye shadow's glide on, stay on, not move or crease.
Night time rolls around and it's time to take off that makeup, my eye shadow
looks the same as it did hours before when I first applied it. Plus this primer
provides a neutral undercoat, for a perfect base. Looking for a drugstore eye
primer? grab this one, its fabulous!
MUA Eyebrow Pencil- Brunette.
I have been into brows
so much lately so I've been wanting to pick up an eyebrow pencil and for £1 the
MUA brow pencil caught my eye. It has a brush to groom and a pencil to define.
I love the size of the pencil, its long so it's easy to hold. When I swatched
the tester on my hand the pencil was creamy and blendable and the colour was
not to strong so I have high hopes for this!
MUA Precision Felt Eyeliner- Jet Black.
I have always wanted to
try a felt eye liner because I assume it would be easier to work with than a
liquid. This formula and precision brush allows you to create various effects
from subtle to bold. I am excited to try this.
MUA Eyeshadow- Copper.
This caught my eye
because of how gorgeous the colour is, it's my type of colour for eye shadow. It's
a gorgeous, copper, bronze, brown shade with a shine and shimmer. It's very
pigmented, one swipe on the finger is all you need. I LOVE this shade and
cannot wait to wear it. An Eye shadow for £1 that is highly pigmented and
beautiful- yes please!
MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer - Atomic.
I have been looking for
a bright, red, orangey, coral lip colour and I finally found it! This is a
smooth, lip lacquer that has a matte, velvet finish and feel. It's long
lasting, pigmented and have five rich beautiful shades to pick from. The
packaging is a frosted glass which I think looks more expensive even though
this was only £3. I tried this when I got home and I love it, the colour is so
vibrant and makes my lips look soft and has a velvet look and feel. The only
thing I wasn't sure on is it made my lips feel a little dry but I think a
lipgloss or lip balm will sort that out. This is so pretty, and one I will be
wearing in the summer!
Sleek Blush- Flamingo.
If you have read my blog
for some time, you will know my favourtie blushes are from Sleek! The
pigmentation is crazy, the shades are so pretty and they are long wearing, and
some of them have a dewy glowing highlight or a shimmer to add to the
cheekbones. I have nothing bad to say about them. Being in love with them I had
to pick up another blush to add to my collection ( currently own 6 ) This shade
is so girly and pretty and perfect for summertime because it's a matte bright
pink with warm undertones and has a satin finish. Beautiful!!!
Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara.
So as I mentioned I have
been into brows and brow products so I am willing to try some different
products. This brow mascara looked easy, and quick and something I needed to
try. This is a brow mascara that combs through every hair for a natural even
finish. A long wearing formula that does not clump, flake or streak. According
to reviews its your brow bestfriend! It is meant to give you a shape and fill
in without all the products, pencils. It's quick and easy.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - 15
This is my favourite
concealer in the drugstore, I have been through about 3-4 of these. I ran out
of the lightest shade one so I had to pick up another one. This is a gel
concealer, that is a light texture but so creamy. I bought one in the lightest
shade to brighten and awaken the under eyes and highlight my face. Glad I have
it back in my collection.
This is a water-based
blurring complex that refreshes, hydrates, smoothes and awakens the skin for a
perfect flawless finish. You can use this under or without foundation. When I
tried in on the back of my hand it felt so smooth, soft and hydrating and I
could smell apricots, which is lovely and reminds me of summer. It has the
effect of a liquid highlight/luminator without shimmer or glitter. It's meant
to give your skin a luminous, brighter awake effect. We shall see!
Maybelline DR Rescue Baby Lips.
I have been wanting to
try this because I am obsessed with the baby lips. I currently have 8! I wanted
this because it has menthol and eucalyptus. This is a medicated lip balm that
provides care and soothes sore dry lips. In 1 minute lips are meant to feel
smooth, soothed, 1 day dryness has gone and in 1 week lips are reborn. I tried
this last night and it felt amazing, my lips did feel smooth, soothed and a
cool, tingly feeling which was nice.
Maybelline ColourSensational Lipstick - Petal
Pink
I picked this up because
it's such a neutral, soft girly pink. I have brights and dark pinks but nothing
soft and neutral like this so I am excited to wear this. I think paired with a
pink rosy gloss would be gorgeous! The Maybelline lipsticks are so creamy,
blendable and long wearing.
That is everything that I picked up at Superdrug! Hope you enjoyed reading and if you have any of these products let me know what you think of them. kim xo

Let's talk about fake tan! ♡
Welcome back to my blog! I'm going to be
sharing my fake tan routine with you. I will go through the preparation,
application, products and tips and tricks! I hope you enjoy reading! xo
Preparation:
The golden rule is to shower and exfoliate
when it comes to tan! My tip is to shower wait a few hours then apply the tan!
I found that when I applied my tan straight after my shower, the tan would sink
into my open pores and settle into every
line and my tan would get blotchy very easily. So I now either shower in the
morning, give the day for my skin to breathe and relax then do my tan in the
evening, or shower in the night and in the morning do my tan!
When I am in the shower I use a scrub and
exfoliating gloves. I like to use a gritty scrub but something that is also moisturising,
so I use soap and glory scrub of your life or I will use Clarins exfoliating
body scrub. Both great, gritty scrubs that moisturise and give a good
exfoliation. I use the exfoliating gloves to get right into the skin and buff
and scrub away the dead skin cells. I scrub all over but I focus more on the
backs of the legs, elbows, inner arms, under arms and knees. Then I will shave, I love using something moisturising
and soft to shave with so I love using Soap and glory whipped clean shower
butter, this smells so yummy like cakes and vanilla!! It's a shower butter so
its extra moisturising, and feels like a body butter!
After showering I then apply moisturiser to the back of my legs, knees, feet, elbows and inner arms. Then I will wait a few hours or if I have just showered in the night, I will wait till the morning to do my tan.
Application:
If I am using a fake tan that requires a mitt
I will first put on a pair of gloves, then instead of using a mitt I will use a
black sock. Using a sock instead of a mitt is so much easier and better. It
gives me more access and movement, and it gives my tan a more blended and even
look than with a mitt. Using a mitt is fine but for me it's too bulky and I
don't feel I have as much access to all the little areas. A sock makes the
application so much easier and smoother, you can get in all the places and
blend and move more easier. I start applying the tan to my arms then chest and
neck and work my way down. I take my time and make sure I am blending it well
and evenly. When I apply tan to my hands, I get in between the fingers and
blend it all down, and make sure my wrists are blended with my hands and arms.
I do the same with my feet, I get in between the toes, and blend it down and
make sure my ankles are blended. To prevent orange hands and feet after I have
applied the tan I take a hand cream and apply it to my hands and a foot cream
to my feet, This will prevent the orange hands and feet and blend it!
Products:
Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Tan:
This is my favourite! I am not into having
a dark tan, or even a really tanned look. I am into the subtle tans that
gradually give you a nice, bronzy, glowly tan, that you can build. This is a
silky, hydrating, moisturiser that gives you a subtle, gentle, glowly tan. You
can use this everyday like a moisturiser, to give you a beautiful "
healthy" looking tan that is build able. This smells like cucumbers, a
fresh clean smell! You cannot smell a tan scent and even when it's on the skin
you cannot smell any tan scent! Which I LOVE because I don't really like
walking around and you can smell the tan. This smells very fresh and clean. It
lasts a while, and has good staying power. I don't have a problem with it fading,
peeling or becoming patchy. It melts into the skin, dries super quick, smells lovely, feels moisturising and gives a gentle tan.
Clarins Radiance plus golden glow booster:
This tan is an oil. It adds moisture to the
skin and gives it a gentle, sun kissed, bronzed look. This is to be
applied with your moisturiser. It is a
gradual tan, that leaves my skin looking beautiful! as if I have spent time in
the sun and I have got that bronze, sun kissed, healthy, glowing tan. How I
apply this is, I take my moisturiser into my hands which is normally soap and
glory butter yourself body lotion then I
apply three drops of the Clarins glow booster and mix it in my hands. I then
apply it to my body the normal way you apply tan. This tan would be perfect for
the summer and it looks healthy and natural. I don't have a problem with it
fading, peeling or becoming patchy. You do get that ' tan ' smell but it's a
nice sweet tan smell, I like it to be honest! The scent does fade after a day
or so. Beautiful tan, very sun kissed and glowing and very hydrating my skin
feels very soft and hydrated.
Looking after the tan:
To keep up with my tan, and make sure it
stays nice and not patchy. I moisturise my skin if my skin needs it. With the
Clarins oil I don't need to moisturise because its already very hydrating. With the Cocoa brown tan I moisturise my skin the
day after.I just make sure there is no unblended parts or patchy parts. If I need to I will apply the tan again that night or day if I need abit
more colour, because the tans I use are subtle and gradual they can be used
daily to build it up and cover any mistakes/ patches.
Removing the tan:
When I want to remove my tan, I first use a
sponge with the scrub side and hot soapy water and start scrubbing. I then go
in the shower and use a exfoliating product and the exfoliating gloves. Then I
will wash my body and use a loofa to scrub my skin as I am washing. By the time
I get out of the shower the tan is scrubbed off and my skin is raw from the
scrubbing so I take care of it by soaking my body top to bottom in a luxurious
body butter mixed with a body oil. Or after the scrubbing shower I will run a
nice hot bath, add a bath oil into the bath and soak my skin for a little bit
then use a luxurious body butter when I get out.
That is all my tanning secrets and how I
have a nice natural glowing tan! I really hope you enjoyed reading and please
let me know in the comments your tan secrets :) xox

beauty questions tag! ♡
Welcome back! So I was scrolling through blog posts ( old
and new ) and I came across the beauty questions tag! I have not done
this tag so I thought I would join in, please feel free to join in and do your
blog posts on this tag...
SKINCARE:
How many times do you wash your face daily?
I try to do it twice. I sometimes do it of a morning, but
some mornings I am just too lazy ( not a morning person ) and I will just skip
the wash and go straight to toner. Of a night I go all out, I wash and do my
skincare routine. So I try for twice but mostly once.
What skin type do you have?
I am combination, but I am more dry than oily. I only get a
tiny bit oily on my T-zone.
What is your current cleanser?
Liz Earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser and
Cetaphil gentle cleanser. Both really nice, gentle cleansers!
Do you exfoliate, if so what do you use?
Yes I do! I love exfoliating. I don't do it every day
because I don't want to irritate my skin so I only do it 3 times a week. I use
Liz Earle gentle exfoliate. This is so nice, it smells like a spa...very
relaxing. It gives a good scrub but gentle and soft. If I am needing a bit more
of a harder scrub ( nothing harsh or scratchy ) I like to use the St Ives
apricot scrub. This smells so yummy and feels so good, it's a good gritty scrub
but still gentle.
What Moisturiser do you use? ( day +
night )
I use the Liz Earle Skin repair moisturiser in the day and
night but I also use the Philosophy hope in a jar night cream to give my skin
extra moisture of a night. I will also use a beauty oil some nights.
Do you have Freckles?
I only have some slight freckles around my
nose. You can hardly see them, but in the summer they are abit more visible.
Do you use eye cream?
I don't at the minute because I have ran out of my eye
creams so I am currently not using any. :(
Do you or did you have acne prone skin?
When my skin was just oily I use to suffer with a lot of
spots but now my skin has changed from oily to dry I don't suffer any more I
will sometimes have a mini break out or a few pop up around that time of the
month.
Have you ever used Pro-Activ?
I have not tried it. I have read alot of mixed reviews on
it so I am not sure I would try it.
MAKEUP:
What foundation do you use?
I use L'Oreal true match or I will use L'Oreal True match
lumi. On days when I want full coverage and a flawless base I will use Clarins
Flawless coverage foundation.
How about Concealer?
I use Maybelline fit me concealer or Garnier eye roll on.
Do you know your undertone colour?
I am a neutral with pink undertones.
What do you think of fake eyelashes?
I love them! I think they bring a different look to a
makeup look and I think it compliments everyone and they look so girly and sexy!
Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara
every 3 months?
Of course! But I am bad at this I forget and sometimes my
mascara is not ready to get thrown out because there is alot of product left
and that would just be a waste of money.
What brand of mascara do you use?
I love so many! My favourite combo currently is Maybelline
rocket and L'Oreal telescopic ( the gold tube ) Both of these are fabulous!
Are you a MAC fan?
I do like the blushes and lipsticks but that is it, I am
not a hardcore Mac collector I prefer other brands.
Do you have a MAC pro card?
Nope!
What makeup tools do you use in your makeup application?
Brushes and a beauty blender. I love the Real techniques
brushes and the Zoeva brushes.
Do you use a primer for the eyes?
Always! Either Urban Decay Primer Potion or Beauty UK
Primer. I think it's very important to stop creasing and something for the
shadows to stick to.
What about a face primer?
Sometimes I will use Benefit Porefessional. I am going to
buy the L'Oreal Lumi Primer.
What is your favourite eye shadow colour and brand?
I love warm browns and bronze colours. They make my brown
eyes pop and I am just such a warm shade gal for eye shadows. I also love a
little shimmer and glitter! For brand Urban Decay all the way!!!!
Do you use pencil, gel or liquid eyeliner?
Pencil 90% of the time and gel the 10%. I don't really use
liquid because I like the look gel gives, and pencil is more softer.
How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil or
mascara?
Very rarely, I am careful! If I do have a slip and poke my
eye it's always with the mascara wands.
What do you think of pigment eyeshadows?
I like them, however I don't reach for them that much
because it's easier and quicker to work with regular pan shadows. If I have the
time and effort I will use them.
Do you use mineral makeup?
Nope! I am not much of a fan, it irritated my skin to be
honest. I also find the coverage is poor.
What is your favourite lipstick colour and brands?
I love soft colours and dark colours. I love baby pinks and
dark purples and fuchsia pinks and fire engine reds and soft rosy colours. For
brands I am a big fan or Revlon and Maybelline.
How about lipgloss?
I love Revlon and Mac and Maybelline. I pick colours that go with the lipsticks I pick/have.
I love Revlon and Mac and Maybelline. I pick colours that go with the lipsticks I pick/have.
What is your favourite blush to use?
I LOVE the sleek blushes they are so pigmented and pretty
and some of them have a little iridescent shimmer to highlight the cheeks.
Do you buy any makeup on Ebay?
Only sometimes I do, if I can get it a little cheaper than
the store but 95% I buy from the store.
Do you like drugstore makeup, if so what brands?
I love it! I am a big fan of revlon, Maybelline and sleek.
I also love L'Oreal and Barry M.
What about high end? Any brands you like?
I love the high end makeup too! I love Urban decay the most
and Benefit they are my two favourites.
Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?
Yes and I am! I am doing a private make-up course and I am
so excited. Make-up has always been my passion and something I love and want to
do as a career. Soon I will be a qualified makeup artist. Super excited!!!! I
would love to take a few classes at MAC!
Are you clumsy with applying your makeup?
No! I love putting my makeup on and I love the process of
applying it all. So I like to take my time, I am in my happy place. Even if I
am so tired and it's so early in the morning, once I sit in the chair to do my
makeup I waken up and I love it.
Name a makeup crime you dislike?
I do not understand shaved eyebrows then drawn on? this
confuses me and I dislike it. I also don't like unblended eye shadow and
nothing is blended on the face.
Do you like colourful shades or neutral?
Both! But I am more
for colour. Just can't help it, I love makeup and love all the gorgeous
colours. I do have them neutral days sometimes.
Which Celebrity always has great makeup?
I love Jennifer Love Hewitt her makeup is always nice, her
bronzed eyes are gorgeous! I also love Christina Aguilera red lip. To be honest
I love Jaclyn hill on YouTube. Her makeup is gorgeous, she is very skilled. She
is mainly my inspiration rather than a ' celebrity '
If you could leave the house only using ONE makeup item,
what would you use?
I'd curl my lashes and apply Mascara! I think it brings the
eyes to life and for me it makes me feel girly.
Could you ever leave your house without any makeup on?
I could but I'd prefer not to because I like to make an
effort with myself, and I like the process of applying makeup and playing
around with it.
Do you think you look good even without makeup on?
Yeah I do, but like most woman I prefer and feel more girly
with makeup on!
In your opinion, what is the best makeup brand?
That is hard... I love Urban Decay for shadows, L'Oreal for
face and Sleek for blushes. Oh so many amazing brands!
What do you think about makeup?
I think makeup is fab! It brings us girls confidence, and
creativity and some of us careers. It's something to play around with and
experiment and enjoy.
