Taking a break from MakeupwithKimmy!

This post is just going to be me telling whoever reads this that I might be taking a break from blogging, Before I quit all together I might just take a break. This may cause my follower number to go down but hey ho that is just the way it is.

So like all bloggers you start off small and just build it up and that is what I have been doing. I started blogging in July 2013 and now in March 2014 I have reached 157 followers which to me is pretty amazing. Lately I have been just thinking about that number and to be honest I don't feel any good that I have that number. Why? well I do a post and put a lot of effort and time into it, I post it and I receive 0, maybe 1 comment on that post. Now I know comments are not everything but to be honest I love feedback and reading the comments and interacting with people on my blog. To do a post you think is pretty interesting, you have put a lot of time, dedication and effort into it, you post it and you just get nothing from the 157 people that have followed your blog its pretty disheartening and when that keeps happening it gets to the point of " is anyone reading my blog" " is my blog not good" you start getting questions in your head.

Also from this blogging experience I thought I'd gain some friendships and talk to people and just interact with other bloggers and to be honest I have not! I have tweeted, in the #bbloggers. I have commented on tweets and blogs, I have done things to interact with people but I feel nothing gets back to me.

Now I am not trying to make this post all about me complaining because good things from blogging have come out of it like, enjoying writing posts and having some fun with my blog. Also I have got to work with many amazing companies, like Philosophy and Murad and many more to review their products on my blog which is amazing and I have loved that.

I guess I just wish I had some feedback and some interaction and knowing that someone is reading my posts, and they are helpful and interesting and I am just not wasting my time and effort when nobody is reading them...

I think Makeupwithkimmy will be on a break just because I just want to take time out of blogging and just think about if I should just end blogigng all together or carry on :-) If you have any suggestions let me know. Xx

thank you to anyone who has read my posts or commented I am grateful and yeah that is all... Goodbye for now blogging world! xox

What I have been loving this March!❤

Hello Ladies! So today's post is what I have been loving this march. So anything I have been loving this month I am going to share.

1. Maybelline colour sensational lipstick in Cherry Candy.
First this packaging is really nice, the red packaging is gorgeous! Then the colour of this lipstick is beautiful a bright fuchsia. It lasts a long time without re applying and does not bleed or become flaky. The pigmentation is excellent you get a lot of colour and it feels very soft on the lips almost moisturizing. Love wearing this!

2. Maybelline baby lips in pink punch, cherry me, hydrate and mint fresh.
Yes I have accumulated 4 baby lips and I am wanting more. I love wearing these. They are super soft on the lips and make my lips feel very smooth and soft. They look cute, with super gorgeous packaging and they smell so nice!

3. Maybelline dream mousse shimmer in champagne.
This is a mousse highlight and I love how gorgeous this looks! It gives such a beautiful highlight right on the cheekbone, and when the light catches it, it brings it to life abit more. It feels super soft on the skin and blends in so well! Its beautiful on the eye lids with a nice soft brown blended into it! I have been wearing this more than the MaryLouManizer by The Balm which is my all time favorite highlight.

4. Real Techniques Powder Brush.
I love real techniques brushes, I have a lot of them now. The one that is new to my collection is the powder brush which is just amazing to apply your powder, loose or pressed! Its a nice big size and super soft. It does not shed and has a nice handle to hold, I feel in control which is important with brushes. I love this brush!

5. Coastal Scents Go Palette London.
I got this palette for Christmas and I LOVE it. I do have to say I was not using it much because I have that many palettes I forget about this one but this month I went back to it and I just love it! It's very pigmented. It goes on so soft and blends in so well. Also the colours in this palette are so pretty. Blues, greens, Purples and then browns and blacks. I have been wearing these eye shadows alot this month.

6. Too Faced Blush Mocha.
I use this blush as a bronzer/blush. After I have done my contouring with a bronzer I then take this and just apply it as a bronzer/blush. So I go where I have contoured and then I blend it up so it looks like my bronzer has blended into a blush! I love how it looks, in the summer it will look beautiful. Its pigmented and has a little bit of shimmer to it.

7. Soap and Glory Butter yourself moisture lotion.
Oh this smells sooooooo good! it has shea butter, orange waterjuice, almond, mango and moringa oils. Its very fruity which I love and look for in scents for my body! Its super soft and leaves my skin so moisturized and soft. Also it melts into wet skin, so when you have come out of the bath or shower and your body is still a little wet after drying you can still apply this moisturizer which is the best thing ever because I hate waiting to be bone dry to apply my moisturizer. Love this so much! smells so good and feels amazingly soft :D

8. Favorite song?
I have been loving Jessica Sutta again. which is not a new song but I have only recently heard it. I have also been loving Bound 2 by Kayne west.

9. Favorite Youtuber?
My favorite youtuber this month is a girl I have just recently found and she is Glam and Gloss 01. she is fabulous and so funny, I have been really loving her videos. Also I have been loving SMLx0, I have loved her from the start. She is so sweet, has fabulous makeup and hair and has amazing videos, and she has replied to some of my tweets which is nice.

10. Something good or nice that has happened in the month?
I have loved that I am now working as a blogger reviewer for Murad! I have made a lovely friend who is Sarah and has been kindly helping me, and sending me products to review and just been an angel and so sweet and lovely. I am so happy to be working with such an amazing company and trying out and telling you what I think about the products so I just wanted to give Sarah I shout out! :D

So that is everything I have loved in March! I hope that you had a good read? It was interesting? and please let me know or send me your blog links to your favorites this month! OXo kimmy

The beauty benefits of using Coconut Oil! ❤

Since November 2013 I have been adding Organic Coconut Oil into my beauty routines. In November I did a blog post on Coconut oil beauty uses I found helpful, but since using it more I have been finding new ways of using it and have become a lot more in love with it. Coconut Oil has many different beauty benefits for the hair and skin and honestly there are hundreds out there that I still yet need to try out but for now this is what I have been using it for and what works for my skin and hair. I thought an updated Coconut oil beauty uses would be helpful and something that is interesting to read because I know not a lot of ladies know much about the fabulous world of coconut oil and to be honest I would of never of thought about using something that you put into food/eat for your face or skin but here is what I have been using it for I hope you enjoy reading!

Coconut oil is known for cooking, using it for vegetable oil and olive oil and putting it into many different recipes. But what coconut oil can do for your skin and hair is more amazing than what it can do for your food. The Coconut oil is a waxy solid but when you heat it up/warm with your hands it melts. What I do is put as much as I need into a bowl and heat it in the microwave for 10 seconds, this will turn it mushy but not a liquid because I like to then heat it up with my hands until it has melted into a liquid. It also smells GREAT... Coconuts mmmh.

Using it for the hair!
I LOVE using coconut oil for my hair, its mostly used on my hair than my skin. For my hair this is what really works to keep it hydrated and looking and feeling healthy and shiny.

  • Deep treatment: When the coconut oil is a liquid I apply a small amount on the ends of my hair before or after washing it, you only need a little bit because it goes along way and to much will make your hair greasy and If you use it before washing it I recommend not using a conditioner because that will make your hair greasy. I clip it up and put my hair into a shower cap. I leave it on either all night, or all day. While soaking in a bath, or about 3 hours before I shower. I leave it on for a while because you really want to let the coconut penetrate your hair and soak in. Then wash it out. This is going to strengthen and condition the hair, leaving it in amazing soft condition and hydrated. Kind of like a mask/deep conditioning treatment.
  • Hydration Oil for before heat styling/afterwards:Just like normal oils you get for hair, Like argon and macadamia. Coconut oil does the same thing... I just get it into a liquid and apply a tiny bit on the ends of my hair wet or dry. mostly when I have finished styling my hair I add it on. This will make it smooth and shiny, keep the frizz down and hydrate the ends of my hair!

  • Bye Bye Dandruff!: This is something I discovered in the winter time when my hair was becoming flaky and dry. I mixed tea tree oil with the coconut oil and applied it on wet hair root to ends and left it on for about 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes I brushed through my hair with a comb or brush and washed it off. The tea tree oil is going to treat the dandruff while working with the coconut oil to put the hydration back into your hair making the flakes and dry scalp be gone!
Using it for the face!

There are great benefits to using coconut oil on your skin, I recommend using it of a night time because if you use coconut oil on your face of a morning, applying make-up will be a nightmare because it will slip and slide and won't last long. Also you want a clean fresh face while using it, to really feel the benefits and notice them.

  • Eye Area: To reduce puffiness, dark circles and redness around my eyes I like to rub a tiny amount onto my hands turning it into a liquid and then gently pat around my eye area ( where you normally apply eye cream ) This can also prevent aged skin, but because I'm young I don't use it for that but it's never to early to start!
  • Eye makeup remover/lashes conditioner: This is fabulous to take off mascara, because its an oil it really helps take off makeup on your eyes and also it can be used to condition your lashes. It's just like the cleanse oils you can buy to take makeup off but even better, cheaper and organic!
  • Facial Oil: I LOVE using this for a night oil, I really want to try all the beauty oils for your face but for now I like to use Coconut oil on nights where my skin really needs the hydration. Also when I have used a good face mask that leaves my skin feeling a little dry or has pulled every oil out of my face I like to put the oil back into my face and use the coconut oil!
  • Lip conditioner: Use it as a lip balm, soothes dry and flaky skin and leaves your lips feeling super soft and hydrated!
Using it for the body!
These are some ways to use it for your body!
  • Shaving oil: Its amazing to use for a smoother, closer shave.
  • Bath Oil: Applying it to your bath water will make your skin soft and smooth but can be slippy so be careful!
  • Massage Oil
  • Body scrub: Adding coconut oil and sugar will make a perfect body or lip scrub. Very smooth and not to abrasive.
  • Clean out your ears: When turned to liquid put a cotton swap into it and gently clean your ears/belly button. Has to be done!
  • Stretch marks: Apply it to stretch marks every day will help heal and clear them! like Bio Oil.
  • Soothed cracked and dry skin/feet.
So that is my ways of using coconut oil for beauty reasons. Interesting huh? SO next time your food shopping pick some Organic Coconut oil up, be aware you might get addicted!

Review: Murad Blemish Control Clarifying Mask! ❤

Hey everyone. Anybody out there that reads my blog will already know/have an idea that I am a big fan of face masks! Yes it is true, I love that treatment time to just take out that gunk and do a real good face mask. Recently I have used the Murad Blemish Control Clarifying Mask and I have to say it has made it's way into my top 3!

* disclaimer this product was sent to me for a review but all opinions are 100% mine and honest I never give out false opinions just because the product was sent to me*.

Firstly this face mask claims to deep clean your skin by drawing out the impurities and absorb all the oil! It has ingredients to calm irradiated skin and reduce redness and inflammation so it controls spots and blemishes and also helps unclog pores.

My thoughts when I applied it to my skin?

When I had it on my fingers ready to apply to my face I could already feel how soft it felt which was nice. I also noticed it had no scent just a slight scent of a fresh clean smell. It's not a thick consistency or thin, it just goes on evenly. I loved the fact that it was not thin so I did not have to keep re applying it, I used a little bit and that went a long way. It was not to thick so I did not have any blobs. It went on easily no complaints!

My thoughts while it was on my skin ( waiting for it to dry )?

It gave me no tingly or cooling feeling other than a slight tight feeling while it was drying. The tight feeling became slightly more stronger when it was near enough dry which I liked. The best thing about this mask is it dries super quick I left it on for 15 minutes but it dried in 10! Also I wanted to add I felt NO sting or itch or burning feeling so this mask did not give me any irritation which is excellent! I was feeling very pampered and relaxed while it was on my skin. No complaints!

My thoughts while washing it off my skin?

This came off very well! Very easy and no scrubbing or rubbing was needed it just came right off! I did wash it off in the shower and out of the shower to test it and both times it came off very easily! It also left no mess which sometimes masks do leave some sort of mess but this one left nothing to clean up! Very happy with how it washed off my skin! No complaints!

My thoughts afterwards?

I took a look at my skin and it was so much brighter, and cleaner and looked like every speck of dirt, oil and gunk in my pores had been removed. I also noticed how soft my skin felt, it feels like I did not need to moisturize because it felt that smooth and soft and also I felt moisturized already so the mask did not dry my skin out at all! My skin looked so refreshed and glowing and very clean! There was no oily, greasy skin and my spots had become reduced in size and no redness! I honestly felt like my skin was feeling amazing and was in a good place! No complaints.

Any thoughts the next day?

When I woke up my skin still felt soft and looked clean and bright. I don't know how this mask helped but my makeup went on so much easier and better application. I think that was because the mask pulled all that nasty stuff out of my pores and face.

Overall?

I LOVE this mask! it has made it into my top 3! I recommend it even though it is on the pricey side £38.00! I think it is worth the price tag! Very amazing result and clean brighter unclogged skin with dried out spots that have gone down in size and redness and been taking away.

What I use to hydrate and treat my hair!❤

Hi Everybody! I'm going to be sharing some products/tips/tricks that I love doing to take care of my hair and to make it hydrated and healthy. I like to keep my hair as hydrated as I can and looking healthy, shiny and feeling amazing. So here is what I do for my hair to be kept taking care of.

Firstly is my shampoo and conditioner. I have tried a bunch of shampoo's but none make my hair feel amazing the way this particular brand does. That brand is Alberto Balsam. I love this brand it makes my hair feel and look super clean and hydrated and just smelling wonderful. The scents I have are honey and sweet almond which is very sweet but fresh at the same time and of course smells like honey and almond which is gorgeous but my favorite scent is the coconut and lychee because I love anything in my hair that smells of coconuts, I don't know why but it just smells so good. Also the scents last in my hair for a long time honestly about 3 days and that is with heat styling and using other products. This brand also has a pearl look to them which brings me on to my shampoo tip! If a shampoo is creamy or pear looking then that means its more hydrating and moisturizing than a normal clear shampoo. What a clear shampoo is mainly for is volume and clarifying but since I am talking about hydration and mainly what I look for in hair products I go for the pearly/creamy shampoo's. So next time your out buying your shampoo's be on the look out for what you want and if it comes out pearly/creamy or clear.

So now I am going to talk about what I like to use for deep conditioning/treatment masks. Now if I want just a quick mini hydrating, softening treatment I will use my Alberto Balsam conditioner. I apply it to the ends of my hair and then clip my hair up I then sit in the shower with the water on my feet or body so it's not touching my hair, I will let the steam get to my hair which allows the conditioner to sink in more because your cuticle will open up. I do my shower routine and leave my hair till the very last, I then wash it off and use shampoo. When I do this it makes my hair feel soft and smelling gorgeous and has that extra hydration.

If I am wanting something a little more hydrating but not to intense or a mask then I will get Organic Coconut Oil. This is AMAZING for your hair. The coconut oil is a solid so I like to put some into a bowl and heat it up into the microwave for about 5 seconds which will then turn the oil soft so you can manage it better and work it into your hair much easier. I concentrate on the ends of my hair and whatever is left on my hands I rub into my scalp. I then clip my hair up and leave it for as long as I want too. You can sit in the shower and let the steam get to your hair if you want and sometimes I do. Once you have washed it out your hair will feel so smooth, looking healthy and shiny and as hydrated as can be!

If I am wanting intense hydration I will use a mask or treatment sometimes if my hair needs it or I really want to pamper I will use a mask if I want to add more hydration I will use the mask and organic coconut oil or my conditioner. The mask I use is the Argan Oil Hydrating hair mask which is an intense conditioning treatment. This is full of proteins and Keratin and Argon Oil so that is all your goodness there. It helps dry hair, and improves texture and manageability it also stores that hydration and goodness back into your hair. I love this, I notice how my hair feels so soft and hydrated after using this. It's thick stuff so a little bit does go along way. It does not make my hair sticky, stiff or to oily which is great.

So you can do many things with this but my favorite ways are to apply it to your hair, clip your hair up and leave it on for as long as you can I like to leave it on for a few hours then wash it off. A great way to do this is to wear a shower cap. Or you can leave it on over night for a intense treatment... So wet the ends of your hair, apply the treatments, clip your hair up, put on a shower cap. The bigger the shower cap the better if you have alot of hair because it's going to cover every piece of hair. When you wake up the next morning, take your hair out of the clip/bobble and brush through then wash it off and val-ah great hair that feels smooth, well treated and hydrated.

The other treatment I like is Neal&Wolf harmony intensive care treatment for all hair types. This is Sulfate and paraben free which is very good. This is just a nice silky treatment for any hair type which is great! It leaves my hair nice and smooth and feeling treated. I don't use this one very often because I like using more intense products but I still like this one!

You want to make sure you are always using a treatment on your hair, if that is deep, intense or just a mini treatment. If your using heat on your hair nearly everyday your hair needs that moisture and hydration and treatment. You will find when you do get into that routine of using treatments your heat styling comes out a lot better, whether that is curling or flat ironing or blow drying your hair it will come out much better because it all begins with hydrating and treating your hair! kind of like your makeup, you wash your face and moisturize it before applying your makeup, but if you didn't do that you would notice your makeup application wont be as good!

Moving on to a leave in conditioner which I love to use if I have not done any treatments that day that I have washed my hair! I use Inecto pure Coconut leave in conditioner. I just love coconut scents can you tell? ;). This smells so good, pure coconuts which is the best smell for my hair! This is also Paraben free. It protects against heat, nourishes and hydrates your hair, calms frizz and fly always and leaves your hair moisturized.

The last thing is an Oil. I like to apply oil at the ends of my hair after styling because it just adds that extra hydration and softness and also keeps the frizz down if you have any. I use Matrix softening treatment oil. This is just fantastic, it really does soften my hair and keeps any split ends or hair from frizzing! and it adds that hydration.

So that is everything that I love to use for my hair to keep it hydrated and soft and manageable! I have over used the word hydrating to much! :P I hope you found this helpful in any way and thank's for reading... Please follow my blog if you have not already!
